Please read the following General Terms and Conditions (GTC) carefully before purchasing an animal.

Live animals are not ordinary goods. Despite careful husbandry and thorough documentation, biological developments cannot be completely predicted or controlled.

By concluding the purchase agreement, the buyer acknowledges and accepts these General Terms and Conditions.

Sale of Captive-Bred Animals

I only sell animals that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, appear healthy at the time of transfer, feed independently, and show no visible signs of disease or other health abnormalities.

All captive-bred animals offered for sale are feeding reliably and have taken food independently at least ten times before being offered.

Sale of Wild-Caught Animals

Animals are clearly identified either as WC (Wild Caught) or LTC (Long-Term Captivity).

Wild-caught animals that have been kept in my collection for an extended period and are classified as LTC (Long-Term Captivity) are subject to the same conditions as my captive-bred animals.

Before being offered for sale, LTC animals are evaluated in the same manner as captive-bred animals with regard to feeding behavior and general health condition.

Recently imported animals are always identified as WC (Wild Caught) and are never offered as LTC animals.

Sale of Animals

Animals are only sold to persons for whom species-appropriate and responsible husbandry can reasonably be expected.

I reserve the right to refuse a sale without providing further reasons if there are justified concerns regarding the future care, welfare, or keeping of the animal.

Warranty and Liability

Upon transfer of the animal, responsibility for its care, husbandry, and welfare passes entirely to the buyer.

To the extent permitted by law, I accept no liability for changes in health, husbandry errors, or the loss of the animal after transfer.

As this is a private sale, statutory liability for material defects (warranty) is excluded to the extent permitted by law. This does not apply in cases of intentional misconduct, fraudulent concealment, or where liability is mandatory under applicable law.

Advice and Support

Even after the purchase, I am happy to provide advice and assistance.

I strive to respond to enquiries promptly and will gladly support buyers with questions regarding the husbandry, feeding, and care of the animals purchased.

Sex Determination

Sex determination is carried out to the best of my knowledge and with the greatest possible care.

Returns and Cancellations

As this is a private sale involving live animals, no contractual right of return is granted. Statutory rights remain unaffected.

An order may be cancelled as long as the animal has not yet been shipped or handed over. Any costs already incurred shall be borne by the buyer.

Reservation

Reservations are generally possible.

A deposit of 25% of the purchase price is required to reserve an animal.

The deposit will be credited toward the final purchase price.

Reserved captive-bred animals should be collected within three months. If collection takes place after more than three months, the full purchase price must be paid.

The maximum reservation period is six months.

If the animal is not paid for in full or collected within these timeframes, the reservation will expire. Any deposit already paid may, to the extent permitted by law, be retained to cover costs incurred and financial losses.

Should I be unable to fulfil a reservation for important reasons (for example, due to illness or the death of the animal), the deposit will of course be refunded in full. Any further claims or claims for damages (for example, for terrariums or accessories already purchased) are excluded.

Collection and Shipping

Personal collection is preferred.

I arrange the transport company and ensure that the animal is packaged professionally and safely.

Upon handover of the animal to the agreed transport company, the risk of accidental loss or deterioration passes to the buyer, to the extent permitted by law.

International shipping may be possible upon prior agreement.

Collection or shipping dates will be arranged jointly.

Liability Disclaimer

Viewing and collection of the animal take place at the buyer's own responsibility.

I shall only be liable for damages in cases of intent, gross negligence, or where liability is mandatory under applicable law.

Documentation

All animals offered are carefully documented.

Upon request, this documentation may be provided to the buyer.

A transfer certificate will be issued where proof of origin or other official documentation is required.

Where available, certificates of origin, CITES documents, and any other required documentation will be handed over with the animal.

Upon request, a receipt or invoice can be issued. However, all sales are made exclusively as a private individual.

Legal Regulations

Certain species of rear-fanged snakes are subject to legal restrictions or keeping bans in some German federal states.

It is the buyer's sole responsibility to inform themselves about the legal regulations applicable at their place of residence before purchasing an animal.

This includes, in particular, any registration, licensing, or documentation requirements.

Severability Clause

Should any provision of these General Terms and Conditions become wholly or partially invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.

Any invalid provision shall be replaced by a legally permissible provision that comes as close as possible to the economic purpose of the original provision.

By entering into the contract of sale, the buyer acknowledges and accepts these General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Sale of captive-bred animals

I offer for sale only animals that, to the best of my knowledge and conscience, appear healthy when they are handed over, feed independently, and show no visible signs of illness or health abnormalities.

All captive-bred animals offered for sale feed independently and have accepted food at least ten times before being transferred to their new owner.

Whenever possible, the animals are accustomed to their natural diet. For example, saurivorous snakes are fed live geckos.

Sale of wild-caught animals

The animals are clearly identified as WC (Wild Caught – caught in the wild) or LTC (Long-Term Captivity – kept in captivity for an extended period).

Wild-caught animals kept in my collection for a long time and classified as LTC are subject to the same conditions as my captive-bred animals.

Before they are rehomed, LTC animals are assessed according to the same criteria as captive-bred animals in terms of feeding and general health.

Recently imported animals are always identified as WC (Wild Caught) and are never offered as LTC animals.

Transfer of the animals

The animals are only sold to people who can reasonably be expected to provide care suited to the species.

I reserve the right to refuse a sale without having to state the reasons if there are legitimate concerns about the animal’s future living conditions or welfare.

Warranty and Liability

From the time the animal is handed over, responsibility for its keeping, care and welfare passes to the buyer.

To the extent permitted by law, I cannot be held liable for changes in the animal's health, husbandry errors, or its loss after handover.

As the sale is made privately, the statutory warranty for defects is excluded to the extent permitted by law. This exclusion does not apply in cases of intentional misconduct, fraudulent concealment of a defect, or where liability is imposed by mandatory legal provisions.

Advice and assistance

I’m naturally available after the sale to offer advice and support.

I aim to respond promptly to all enquiries and am happy to help with the husbandry, feeding and care of animals purchased.

Sexing

However, no guarantee can be given as to the accuracy of the sex determined.

If, for serious reasons (for example, if the animal becomes ill or dies), I am unable to honour the reservation, the deposit will of course be refunded in full. No other claims for compensation (for example, for a terrarium or accessories already purchased) will be accepted.

Discount and shipping

Collection in person is preferred.

All shipping is carried out with the animal’s welfare in mind.

Shipping by a company specializing in the transport of exotic animals is possible by prior agreement. It is only carried out when weather conditions are suitable and depending on the recipient's postal code.

Shipping costs, including suitable packing materials, generally range from €45 to €80, depending on the destination and country, and are paid by the buyer.

I arrange the transport and ensure that the animals are packed professionally and securely.

Once the animal has been handed over to the agreed carrier, the risk of accidental loss or damage passes to the buyer, to the extent permitted by law.

The dates for handover or shipping are agreed by mutual consent.

Disclaimer

The visit and handover of the animal are the buyer’s responsibility.

The invalid provision is replaced by another valid provision that comes as close as possible to achieving the economic purpose of the original provision.
